Fred Guttenberg gave testimony to U.S. Senate Democrats in Washington, D.C., in the wake of his daughter Jamie’s death at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. His anger was palpable as he pivoted to describe the NRA’s recently released videos, described here by Nicole Guadiano of USA Today:
National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch is (ambiguously) threatening journalists, Hollywood and athletes — with a big hourglass.
In an ad for her new NRA TV show, Loesch calls out “every lying member of the media,” every “Hollywood phony,” “athletes who use their free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents,” and politicians “who would rather watch America burn than lose one ounce of their power.”
The list goes on, with specific mentions of newspapers and broadcasters. Ominous guitar music plays.
Enter the hourglass.
“Listen up! Your time is running out…The clock starts now,” she says, flipping the hourglass on a table, in front of a black background.
Guttenberg angrily asked the senators and the gathered media what the reaction would be if this video were released by a terrorist organization. Watch the video below:
